The Greater Flamingo is the largest and palest of the flamingo species. The Al Wathba Wetland Reserve in Abu Dhabi is the only site in the Arabian Gulf where the Greater Flamingo regularly breeds. Flamingos get their pink colour from the food they eat which includes shrimp, plankton, algae and other crustaceans!
